Amber Olson

EMS Program Manager, Master Educator

After graduating paramedic school over a decade ago Amber pursued a career in clinical care and meaningful education. Working her way through instructor courses like CPR/First Aid instructor to advanced AHA courses like ACLS and PALS Amber believes in building knowledge from the ground up. Her most recent ventures include working with several grant-funded initiatives such as Emergency Pediatric Care, PHTLS, LUCAS/Cardiac Ready Communities, and Naloxone Training. In addition to these many roles, she actively serves as a paramedic for 2 local departments and frequently helps with instruction of EMT classes and refreshers across the state. Professionalism and customer service are cornerstones of excellent patient care and it is Amber's philosophy that skills acquisition through pertinent education is the foundation of such.

In her “down time”, you will find Amber with reading the latest in EMS research or hovering over a perplexing EKG or playing with a new piece of equipment. When not working, she enjoys wandering through the wilds of Montana with her family.

Paul Menkhaus

Medical Director (MED-ED) | Physician Subject Matter Expert (SIM)

Paul is a native of Kentucky and has lived in Montana for over 25 years. He attended medical school at the University of Kentucky, completed his residency in anesthesiology at Wake Forest University and followed this with a fellowship in cardiovascular anesthesiology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. In addition to his practice as an anesthesiologist, Paul has also practiced in both the emergency room and intensive care settings. He comes to us out of retirement with a strong interest in education and service. His areas of interests include hiking, teaching and fishing.

Sean Grabbe

Senior Educator

Sean is a senior educator in our Education Department. Sean began his career in rescue and emergency medicine first as a lifeguard and then a full-time career as a FF/EMT. Sean earned his paramedic certification in 1995. He worked for five years in a progressive high volume fire-based EMS system in West Texas. During this time, he was an instructor for a community college EMS program. Sean also provided paramedic coverage for chemical refineries.

Moving to Montana in 1998, Sean continued to practice as a FF/paramedic. Currently Sean is the EMS Coordinator for his department. Sean is the medical team leader for the local combined City Police and Sheriffs Special Response Team.

Currently Sean is completing a bachelor’s degree in emergency health science from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio.
